Many people choose the size of their tag by finding the closest standard size that will accommodate their content. We offer over 12 standard sizes, but can easily create other sizes or die cut special shapes for your particular needs.
We have the capabilities to create tags with clipped and rounded corners, as well as custom sizes and shapes to fit your specific application.
While the most common material used in the industry is 13 pt. tag stock, 10 pt., 12 pt., and 15 pt. stock papers are sometimes specified. There are, however, many other materials to choose from.
Industrial tags requiring extra durability or high resistance to water and weather are often made from Tyvek®, Vinyl, and other polyvinyl synthetics. Our merchandise and garment tags are often four-color printed on high grade printing papers and carbon and carbonless papers are used to create multi-part or manifold tags for Inventory, Auction, Safety or Medical Tags.
When designing a tag, it is very important to determine the level of durability, weather resistance and functionality needed when determining the tag material. Be sure and let Form-Tech know.
White and Manila are two of our most popular colors because dark inks show up very well on them and they represent the least expensive paper. We have over 19 other standard colors to choose from or we can start with a white tag and flood coat it with almost any PMS color to custom color match to your specifications.
While many merchandise tags utilize simple holes in them, most industrial tags require fiber reinforcement patches or metal eyelets to make them more durable. 3/16” and 3/8” are the most common sizes.
Popular tag attachment choices include cotton string, elastic string, and wire with state-of-the-art, automatic, affixing, attachment methods.
In addition to sequential numbering, we can incorporate other finishes like perforating, laminating, and applying adhesive strips.
Most industrial tags utilize our lithographic printing process that can print in multiple colors on both sides of the tag. Ink colors are virtually limitless and special features like sequential numbering are easy to add.
